Winter Wonderland | Minnesota Photography |

To say that we had a white Christmas would be a vast understatement!  I am not a fan of cold…but I do love snow.  But things are getting a bit ridiculous with close to 3 feet of it now accumulated on the ground.  I seriously feel claustrophobic attempting to drive around and see over the…

Disney or Bust. | Minneapolis Family Photographer |

I have a lot to say about this family session.  They were awesome .  Really, so fun.  And the little guy?  One of the best behaved (and silliest) kids I have ever worked with.  It may have been because they were leaving for Disney World the next morning (can we say best bribe ever?!)…but I…

Beautiful World. | Edina Photographer |

One of the many reasons I love photographing toddlers is that just for a moment…I see the world through their eyes.  Fresh, new, exciting and full of possibilities.  This was certainly the case with this little girl.  She is passionate about life…even at two.  Her mom, dad and I just followed her around and watched…

Sweet Baby. | Minneapolis Newborn Photographer |

I adore this little family.  I did their maternity pictures a month or 2 ago and was more than happy to make the drive to Rochester to photograph their newborn son.  They are just fun to be around.  Laid back and full of laughs.  You guys are going to be such great parents.  Congratulations! And…

Tall & Tiny. | Minneapolis Urban Photographer |

I loved photographing this brother and sister.  She’s a tiny little thing full of smiles and spunk and he’s a huge barely 14 year old basketball star (not kidding…I should have brought a stool as he towered over me).  But they were so sweet together…despite the age (and size) difference.  It is obvious she adores…

A Little Nuts. | Minneapolis Baby Photographer |

At least that is what most families would be thinking about me if I had them trucking next to the highway in weeds up to their eyeballs.  Luckily, I have photographed this family before…so there was a little trust.  I think.  Anyway…my issue is that I drive past these gorgeous places and I can’t get…

Family. | Minneapolis Photographer |

I have waited years to meet this special family.  We met online several years ago…let me explain.  During the adoption of our daughter I faithfully kept a blog to document our experience…as many adoptive parents do.  I’ve made friends all over the country from that blog.  Some of which are some of my closest friends…

This family has a lot of it.  I photographed these 3 last year and was excited to work with them again.  Their connection is deep…and bubbles over on the surface (which always makes my job easier).  No need to tell them to relax or ‘act’ candid, lol…they have it going on naturally!  And little miss?…

My all time favorite Dr. P conversation from yesterday–

Let me set the scene:

P and I were downstairs on the futon where she was intently checking my ears with her otoscope. (betcha didn’t think I would know what that thing was called!)

P: “Don’t be ascared Auntie Kate. It will tickle”

AK: “Ooh it does tickle.” chuckles. “Hey P, can you see through to the other side?”

P: “Yes.”

AK: “That’s good news, is everything ok then, Doc?”

P: “No! Time for a shot!”
